Understanding non-profit organizations is designed to acquaint students with the basic issues relating to the formation and operation of a non-profit organization. Throughout this course students will learn the legal requirements of forming a non-profit organization as well as the types of activities which will qualify an organization as a non-profit organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Students will also gain an understanding of the importance of establishing a clear vision for a non-profit organization as well as a basic understanding of the various methods of financing a non-profit organization that are available.

D. L. Wallace is born a native of Pittsburgh, PA., where he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1985 completing his dual major in Bachelors Degree in Political Science and History within three (3) years. After obtaining his bachelor's degrees, Mr. Wallace went on to obtain a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law and immediately obtained his Masters at Letters of Law in Taxation and Commerce from the Dickenson College of Law in 1991.
